Trying to get the ball going. This started off based on a sketch of someone i know caricatured into tinkywinky\laalaa\whatever, but i felt it worked too well as just a drawing\painting so i moved from there on.
I suppose when you say teletubbies to most people they'll likely turn around and say it's retarded kid's show where the obese icons get up to naive shinannigans, demonstrating their brainlessness. I decided to play on that factor by working with a similar theme. Here we have Tinkywinky looking around. He isn't quite happy is he? He looks somewhat empty, like there are things he should know or try out. Or that he's wondering what's the point. Kinda like what i've been feeling with the direction of my art these days.
This was intended to be a fine art orientated pic, but i won't blame you if you go "LOL" or compare this with the (liveaction) Tick. Funnily this pic does bear a striking resemblance to the Tick pic i did a few months ago. What with the attempt with a cosmic atmosphere, it could form a form i want to experiment with,
And no i don't wish to draw Laalaa as a babe at the moment.
Teletubbies by whatever twat invented them at the BBC (current arch nemesis for some reason)
Art by me. Done in pencils, acrylics and markers.
I never really watched Teletubbies until I heard about that preecher man who died recently raving about them being some kind of "Satanic conspiracy to turn babies gay" or something as reasonable as that.
So I watched a few eps... Well, I certainly could see how a bigot looking for fault and ignoring everything else could find ammo for such slander, but only because they debase all "Love" into sex.
But the Teletubbies freaked me out. Not the gay issue, I'd love to have a society as intimate where we hold hands and help each other and share.
But I wonder... has anyone read the time machine? I mean, READ the BOOK? These Teletubbies are like the Eloi, and those periscopes have to be the Morlocks looking at them. They go to bed at night also...
As far as that preecher man goes, I hoped that when he reached the afterlife he got re-incarnated in some alternate universe somewhere along the vast spectrum that resembled/is just like the Teletubbies world. "As you wish on me, so I wish on you" the Prophet Isa said. Well, I wouldn't mind becoming a Teletubby in the next life, but it'd be pure ---- to find himself trapped in such a world for an eon or two.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
